Marlon Müller
Engineering Science @ TUM | Odonatum Co-founder
Hi, I'm Marlon Müller. I am currently studying Engineering Science, an interdisciplinary degree program at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). This site provides an overview of my academic and professional journey, alongside some of my personal projects. Feel free to explore!

Highschool
Graduated with the German Abitur, with a strong focus on STEM.
Jugend forscht - Photeia
I participated at the german Highschool science challenge Jugend Forscht in 2024 with my project Photeia. We constructed a biochemical photovoltaic cell from LCD Screen components and demonstrated feasability of large scale recycling, improving resource independence and ecologic impact.
informatics Association - Weatherstation
Planning, organising and building a weather station as part of the informatics association, the project ran from 2019 to 2024 and ended with a working weatherstation on the schools roof. On the way there where lots of broken Raspberry Pi's and sensors, I learned to code and work with electronics also gaining a lot of experience in finishing and presenting such a long term project.
DLRG - Lifesaving Volunteer
Volunteered with the DLRG (German Lifesaving Association). Activities included lifesaving competitions, obtaining diving certifications, and participating in regular first aid exercises and rescue training.
KidsClub Hanover - Tutoring
Working as a tutor with KidsClub Hanover, helping struggling students from socially underprivileged backgrounds (grades 1 - 8). Worked both as an individual tutor, as well as group leader overseeing multiple others.
Bachelor of Science - Engineering Science @ TUM
Since October 2024 I am enrolled in the interdisciplinary Bachelor's degree Engineering Science at Technical University Munich.
Moving to Munich to start studying at TUM
TUM is Germany's top university, with a special focus on entrepreneurship.
Think.Make.Start
Think.Make.Start. is a hackathon/applied teaching course at TUM, where students get to plan and innovate on a project followed by building an actual hardware prototype, all within a 2 Week period. I participated in Batch #20 and created the smart recycling solution Circon together with my amazing Team.
Scholarship - German academic scholarship foundation
The German academic scholarship foundation is the main state-funded organization, giving out scholarships in Germany. Their core values are Performance, Initiative and Responsibility.
EuroTech x HKTE Hackathon
Participated as one of >70 teams at the europe wide EuroTech x HKTE Hackathon in Munich. Built a pipleine to convert your user requested GDPR-Data into usable Insights into your own habits, to improve mental health awareness and reduce burdens on healthcare systems.
FachschaftMSE - Quantum department
Head of the FachschaftMSE student council "Quantum" department, managing student workspaces around the Garching-Hochbrück Campus
Odonatum
Odonatum is a student club I founded at TUM. Its mission is to build a bio-inspired UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) modeled on the flight mechanics of a dragonfly. We currently have around 30 members and are growing fast.
Our Journey begins
At MaiTUM 2025 we came up with a rough idea for what Odonatum could look like, including the name.
Official accreditation
Odonatum is now officially recognised by the TUM student council
Odonatum grows to 30+ members
Since I co-founded the club in may 2025, Odonatum has steadily been growing larger and larger, now we have passed the milestone of 30 concurrent members working on this amazing project.
Official foundation as a charitable association
Odonatum is now officially a charitable association (gemeinnütziger e.V.) under German law. This carries many benefits, including added support, being able to take donations to our own bank account. As with a lot of German bureaucratic processes this took quite a while, requiring months of work and quite a bit of back and forth paperwork.
Odonatum
Odonatum is a TUM studentclub I founded together with clasmates during my bachelors. The goal is to build a bio-inspired UAV working on the flight dynamics of a dragonfly. Our concrete goal is to prove that this approach can achive gains in efficiency and range compared to the more common multicopter drones in a weight range up to 250g.
